Being a good American???

First off, I'm sorry for posting this; well... Maybe I'm not!

This post is coming after a disturbing evening at my munchkin's school last evening.  It was the yearly choir concert and to me it's the worst event of the year, this year however, other than the teacher; who seems to have to control every kid in the building; seemed better than usual... That is until the 5th grade class got to their 3rd song!

Their 3rd song was the Star Spangled Banner (F.S. Key); otherwise known as our National Anthem...  They did a GREAT job, but as school age children they should in my opinion do a great job!

However.....

The teacher though it wasn't approprite to display the colors (flag) or to have everyone stand and remove their hats!!!

This I thought was a travisty!!!

Since when did our country get this screwed up????  I just don't understand this at all!?

Just to make the story a bit stranger...  When the teacher was confronted, she replied that she didn't find it approprite; and didn't understand why we; as Americans; were upset?!?!  When our countries military and the people who actually GAVE our freedom to us during the battle where the song was written in Baltimore Harbor. The teacher mentioned how proud she is of her son who is on his 5th tour in the military!!

 Are you kidding me?? Your a military MOM and have NO CLUE?!?!

 I'm sorry, but I think this is a TOTAL FAIL of our public school system.

In my America, we are proud of our history, support our military and work for the common good.. I guess this is just one more step in the pacification of our heritage and democracy....

All I can say, is IF you happen to see your Senator, Congressman, Rep, Council Man, Alderman, Mayor, etc... Making it easier for people to make America not the country that the Founding Fathers envisioned.. Please, and I do say Please vote their lame duck butt's outta office!!!!!

<Added>

This is an excerpt from Wikipedia....

Pledge of Allegiance and national anthem

§                     The Pledge of Allegiance all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart;

§                     When the national anthem is played or sung;

1.     Designation: The composition consisting of the words and music known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.

2.     Conduct During Playing: During a rendition of the national anthem:

1.    When the flag is displayed:

1.  All present except those in uniform should stand at attention.

2.  Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder,

3.  Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present and not in uniform may render the military salute.

4.  Individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note; and

2.    When the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.

Blogging....

Ok..  I have been reading on the internet this week, and seeing some new headlines about blogging.  And while I have thought that blogging; per-se; has come to an end.  I totally disagree with this.. I think that the casual blogger, who posts news or just small comments, is dead..

Is that not what Facebook and Twitter are for??

I however seem to utilize blogs in another fashion.. For work research..  For the developer; programmer; software engineer these works are invaluable!!!!  We utilize them every day!! Just like a historian utilizes newspapers and magazine articles or historic records..So, to answer in my own words..  No blogging is NOT dead.. It just should be utilized for what it’s good for, like any good technology.  And please utilize other technology for what it good at..
